FIREBALLET
Reunited & Reigniting the Prog-Rock Invasion
In 1975, Fireballet was touted as America’s great contribution to British Rock, performing British-style progressive rock more dexterously than many of their European counterparts. The Fireballet line-up includes lead vocalist/drummer/percussionist Jim Cuomo, guitarist Ryche Chlanda, keyboardsman Frank Petto, organist/saxist Brian Hough, and Martin “Spike” Biglin, bassist and 12-string guitarist. On Night On Bald Mountain, released in 1975, and produced by Ian McDonald of King Crimson fame, Fireballet demonstrates virtuosity on 26 different instruments ranging from Moog Taurus pedals to a Chinese bell tree. Traditional and electronic instruments are juxtaposed, creating a richly-textured and ever-changing sound. Fireballet’s second album, Two, Too, released globally in 1976, continued to demonstrate the group’s sophistication both musically and lyrically. Moving ahead 40 years, Fireballet is thrilled to release re-mastered CD and digital versions of both albums, engineered and remastered by Larry Fast. These releases mark the first time that Night on Bald Mountain and Two, Too were legitimately released on something other than vinyl (and other than CD bootlegs). Already released in Japan through Marquee Records, the Fireballet masters were digitally released through the rest of the world on September 16,2014. |
