Rachel Portman to be honoured with the Richard Kirk Award

A big congratulations to Oscar winning composer Rachel Portman who has made history once again after becoming the first female composer to be honoured with the Richard Kirk Award at the annual BMI Film & Television Awards in Los Angeles on May 19th. The Richard Kirk Award is bestowed on composers who have made significant contributions to the realm of film and television music. As the 2010 honoree, Rachel Portman joins an elite list that includes David Newman, Charles Fox and John Williams just to name a few. Rachel Portman is best known for her extraordinary film scores, which include Grey Gardens (Emmy Winner Best TV Movie in 2009), The Duchess and Oliver Twist, all part of the A Train represented Bucks Music catalog.
