Tommy Guerrero – Winner of The 15th Annual TransWorld SKATEboarding Legend Award

A Train is proud to announce that Tommy Guerrero is the winner of this year’s TransWorld SKATEboarding Legend Award, given each year to an individual who has given their heart and soul to skateboarding. Given Tommy’s rich and varied history as a skate boarder, this is a much deserved honor.

In its fifteenth year, the TransWorld SKATEboarding Awards, is held in Hollywood; for those who aren’t able to attend the show, they can follow on Instagram and Twitter feeds @transworldskate (#TWSAwards2013) for up-to-the-minute updates on the Awards.

14th Annual Native American Music Awards – Canyon Records Artists Earn 20 Nominations This Year

 

 

 

 

 

A Train is excited to announce that Canyon Record artists have been nominated in 12 different categories, some with multiple nominations contributing to an impressive total of 20 nominations for this year’s NAMA. Featured guests of the ceremony include Buddy Big Mountain, Indian E (Elvis), and Canyon artist, hoop dancer Tony Duncan (as featured in Nelly Furtado’s Big Hoops performance).

Celebrate the GRAMMY Awards with A Train

We are pleased to announce that two A Train writers received GRAMMY Awards this year:  Gregg Karukas for writing numerous compositions on Omar Akram’s Best New Age Album, Echoes of Love, released by Real Music (another A Train client) and Lila Downs for Pecados Y Milagros, winner of the Best Regional Mexican Music Album award.

Gregg Karukas has released a number of best selling recordings of his own music as well as contributing to outstanding releases by Richard Elliot, Jessy J and more.  Lila Downs’ Pecados Y Milagros also won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Folk Album and has gone double platinum in Mexico.

Grammy nominees Krishna Das and Radmilla Cody participated in the GRAMMY Pre-Telecast Ceremony.  Read more here.

A Train Welcomes David Benoit

A Train is very pleased to welcome noted composer/performer David Benoit and his new works, including 2012’s Conversation on Heads Up/Concord, to its growing catalog of administered works. “Feelin It” from Conversation was #1 on Billboard Magazine’s Smooth Jazz chart for six weeks.

David Benoit has been nominated for five Grammy Awards and is the music director for the Asia America Symphony Orchestra and the Asia America Youth Orchestra.
